About
"A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join." - TheFanlistings.org
This fanlisting is for the Disney animated series, Gargoyles. It's not your typical Disney series. No cute-and-fluffy, happy-ending fairy tale stuff. It's dark, it's serious, it's dramatic. The characters and stories are complex and often not what they seem to be.
All the canonical episodes and spinoffs were written by Greg Weisman. The original series 1 and 2 ran from 1994 to 1996. Series 3, called "The Goliath Chronicles" began in September 1996, but it was produced by a different team without Weisman's help. TGC didn't suit characters and story too well so it was not considered canon.
The story continued in 2006 as a comic book written by Weisman and published by Slave Labor Graphics (with Disney's permission). The comic is still being published today.
What is it about Gargoyles?
Well (I guess most people will say this) I was fond of it as a kid. I think it's very unique and stands out from other Disney productions. I love anything that is unusual or out of the norm. If it's to do with aliens, faeries, monsters, then count me in!
Every story, although connected, is like an adventure. I enjoyed breaking free from reality and drawing myself into these adventures. I loved how the series mixed together mythology and science fiction. Science and sorcery. Witches and genetic scientists. Time and inter-dimensional travel! The Gargoyles series have some really nice stories to tell.
